As most of you may know music is integral in my life and through the years American Idol has slowly but surely been stabbing me in the heart with their horrific attempt at discovering Americas next best thing. Not that some of them don't have talent but the way they try to mold them into these perfect little pop starlets is kinda nauseating. My main problem with the show is that it needs to let all these artist mold into the musicians THEY wish to be. Seriously wtf is the point of a 18yr old boy doing a Patsy Cline cover when what he really wants to sing is Justin Timberlake's Rock With You or maybe Dave Mathews' Crash? Not allowing these artist to unfold into their own style is what sets me off causing me to not watch this show at all and not support anything it stands for until last night.. As I was on the wonderful world of YouTube I came across an acoustic cover of Heartless by none other then Kris Allen, one of the finalist on this seasons American Idol. At first I was like hmm how is that going to work.. Oh and was I blown away. Kris may not be the next John Mayer but he did a damn great job at arranging the song and making it his own.
