It's been a long time coming..

Speaking as a Hispanic, Lesbian Female being looked down upon will now be something of the past. With last nights landslide win coming from President Elect, Obama, for the first time I knew that difference was no longer going to be an issue in America. Difference will no longer plague our society nor will it make anyone any less acceptable then the other. We will have rights. WE WILL ALL HAVE RIGHTS, not just the right to sit beside one another on a crowded bus or train but the right to be considered as human as the next. Knowing that people are looking past skin color and beliefs for the bettering of OUR country has completely blown me away. To know that this entire time the people of this great nation had seen beyond differences but were to scared to voice out their opinion, but now my friends our opinion has been cast and heard loud and clear.
President Obama, I want to thank you, Thank YOU for stepping in and accepting the great challenge that lies ahead. Knowing that the decision you mad wasn't only for the bettering of you and your peers, but for the bettering of generations ahead. I can now say that I am a proud American and that America loves me just as much as I love her. Thank you Mr. Obama, for allowing this great nation to unit in your name and create opportunities of joy, happiness and strength. Thank you for having such a great vision for us all and knowing that executing this vision wont be easy, but if we unit and work together we can over come the Judgmental, Irrational and UNACCEPTABLE decisions made by the fascist that is George W. Bush. I have faith in you Mr. president and I just want you to know that you can have faith in me as a positive, contributing hard working woman. I will do my best to fight for this country and make it a better place with my sacrifices.
I just want to thank all the Millions of people that turned up at the polls last night and voted for change, THANK YOU!
Now lets start on our track to recovery, WE WILL MAKE IT!

Thank you!

Tuesday, November the 4th. The day America will change.

For today lets take 20min out of our day and go and VOTE! This is by far the most important election of our time. As young adults we should all know that our future is the one at stake. George Bush and his minions will be dead in 20-30 years and we as the next political generation will have to deal with the wrath of his unthinkable "decisions". America is a great country when not being run by these inbred hillbillies and we must go and vote to change that. Voting, though at times (circa '04) controversial and at times unjust is one of the only true freedoms we posses. The power to choose who will be representing us as a people is something we can not look at lightly. This is my future, this is my daughters future, this is our future. This is now.. So please, time is of the essence GO AND VOTE!

Trader Joes.. Friend or Foe??

In this largely growing organic phase is Trader Joes worth the try? I mean with places like whole foods and now Stop and Shop that provide all natural and organic foods do we really need another "Healthy" super market? YES WE DO! Trader Joes has become one of Nathalie and I's staple designations on a Monday night. All of their frozen pre-marinated meats and seafood are completely amazing. All the frozen pre-cooked veggies are delightful and sooo full of flavor, not to mention everything is about 30% cheaper then Whole foods and Stop and Shop. Oh and all of their snacks are so good, especially the Tropical Passion Frozen Fruit bars..

Give them a try.. they even have one in Queens now so their is no reason for you not to. Follow the link bellow to find a location near you.

Alex Nash and the theory of rebirth

In the world of the sneaker counter culture we have come across many great customizers. Customizers are those who can turn an ordinary pair of kicks in something exclusive and unique. Kind of like the rebirth of a pair of dead kicks. Alex Nash is a very well known customizer who's creations have shocked many of us that truly love kicks. His direct approach to radical styles have been seen on feet around the world, though a bit pricey they are non the less pretty fucking fresh.
For those who may be into the culture, peep it, you might just get inspired and feel like trying it yourself. You may just be the next, Alex N.ash

Barak vs. McCain

So after watching a portion of the Barak McCain debate Friday night, I couldn't help but think how much of a great job Barak did. He handled the debate with great maturity and respect. Not once did he try and belittle McCain the way Senator McCain was attempting to do with Barak.

Well At least McCain made such an ass of himself that a lot of people are speculating the Barak won the debate. I personally think he didn't just win but Barak showed the people of America that he IS ready and he WILL be the better candidate to lead us out of this economical, spiritual and political rut.

Get with it America, Vote Barak!

I guess pirates are not just a thing of the past..

Besides the fact that Johnny Depp has signed on for the fourth installation of Pirates of the Caribbean, it seems like Somalia has the real deal!

Well it seams like the like a set of Somalians have been drawn to the edge of their plank and have decided to take over a Ukrainian operated vessel with a full crew, tanks and weapons aboard! That is some real gangster shit right there! The U.S. of course like in everything else can't seem to keep their mind out of others business. I am definitely not saying that we shouldn't help the people aboard that ship, but should we really be treading in chin deep water? I mean, we're already in a lot of financial and political trouble. What if the Somalian pirates decide to blow the tanker, that blood will be all over our hands. As Americans, we need to realize that at times, especially times like these, we can not save the world, better yet, we can not save the world with the pretext that we will get something out of it especially when 65% of the world hates us!

Come on America, lets help the people of our country. Let's help the people down south who are still suffering from Katrina's devastation. Let's help our people out west that still have to deal with all of California's wild fires and their aftermaths. Let's help the people out in the Midwest whom are still suffering of ridiculous amounts of meth labs.
Lets put a stop to all of our issues and help ourselves first, or better yet let's help the less fortunate of our country. let's stop putting money into the pockets of greedy and dirty politicians. let's make this land our again.

David Blaine is a special man..

Not a man with special abilities but a man who needs A LOT of help. I understand the concept of being an illusionist and clearly, David Blaine is not! He is one crazy mo-fo who doesn't know when to draw the line and one day he will perish in the stupidest way and will forever be remembered as the man who couldn't hold his breath long enough..

David Blaine will be attempting to stay hanging upside down for 60hrs. Hanging only from his feet above Central Park. Now I understand the shock value behind it but come on dude, your Physician is telling you it can cause a Brain Aneurysm and or Blindness.. Is it really worth it? I don't know but my eyes are way to precious to loose over some stupid shit like hanging upside down for 60 hours!

If you want to check out the details, below you will find the link.

Sports..

So let's hear it for The Giants. They played a really good game against the Bangles. The bangles were trying to shut us down with their defense but it was no match to the greatness that is Eli Manning. Thanks for keeping us 3 and 0, Eli.

As for the Yanks, at least they closed out the season on a high note and gave Yankees Stadium a Honorable goodbye. I just can't believe this quintessential landmark of NY will become only part of history now. Such great ball players played in the house that Ruth built, know the stadium is of to retirement. Lets hope the new home of the Yanks can bring our spirits up and bring the Series back home to NY, where it belongs!

Travis Barker and DJ AM

First and for most I want to pay my respects to the dearly departed, the 4 other people on the plain that passed away after the freak accident.
It's good hearing that AM and Barker will be making full recoveries. It is said that the accident was caused by a blown out tire, Huh? well if that's what they want to say then whatever, but i really think it' takes a little more than a blown tire to bring down a jet. I smell something fishy..

Sorry

So basically I took a week away from reality and decided to think about what my future holds. Let's hope the decisions I make from this day forth are the right choices for me and everyone I share my life with.
thank you all for being so supportive.
Blog will be up and running from this day forth!

Fase The Case

A good friend of mine from High School just blasted this on his myspace. Turns out his little bro is a rapper in the making. The kid goes by the name of Fase The Case and well, compared to the garbage kids are spitting now-a-days this cat is pretty fierce. He has a sly little flow  going on top of a Mr. West beat for Common, check out the link bellow. Reach out to him on Myspace or the tube if your mildly impressed, I know I'll be.
Let's promote our local artist guys. Who knows maybe you'll see a little colabo between the kid and I in the future..

Child Life

The other day I started thinking about my childhood. Nothing to positive ever came up. It was as if my memories were all of this jaded moment in my life, the divorce. I've always been one to be content with my parents parting of ways but I always held it against them for what they did with me. It was a horrible tug of war that I wish to never relive again. Not knowing who's side to be on and who I wanted to live with is something a 6yr old should never have to go through.

But to the point of this blog, I was listening to Jason a couple weeks ago and a song called, Love For A Child came on. With a title like that I said to myself, "this is something I have to listen and comprehend ". I begin to listen and can't help but let the streams of salt water rush down my face. What an amazing song. After the song ended I couldn't help but feel better, this song opened my eyes. After hearing about an others childhood similar to mine, I couldn't help but love his outlook on it all. Such a great way of flipping my view on it all and living a bit happier.
People, if you've gone through the same, check it out. It won't hurt to read/listen to.

Have a little Faith..

or at least all coke heads should.

Apparently a priest in Illinois has been arrested for selling drugs out of his churches rectory. WTF?!? I mean come on now, not only do they molest children but now they're selling drugs? Not a good look for the Arch Daisi's or the entire Catholic church. This is very bad for business guys, shape up!

Love Lockdown

After all the drama Mr. West has been going through in the last 24 hours I felt compelled to turn things around and shine a light of positivity onto the man behind the genius. If you haven't heard it already, I don't know what rock your living under but bellow you will find the link. Check the song out, their is ABSOLUTELY nothing out there even the least bit smiler. It's raw and organic, like a breath of fresh air, you know? It's simplistic bass line and African tribal music inspiration is beyond compare. Lets bring this style of hip hop back to life. We need it.
